South Monon map

As shown in the map at left, the South Monon begins at the Monon Bridge over Fall Creek, where there will also be a trailhead linking the Monon trail to the Fall Creek Greenway, and continues south to 10th Street. This project will include 2.82 miles of trail, the renovation of the railroad bridge over Fall Creek, a trailhead at 25th Street, and flashing yellow crossing lights at 30th Street, 16th Street and 10th Street.

The trail passes near Douglass Park and Martin Luther King, Jr. Park. There will be a trailhead connection to the Old Northside Soccer Fields at 16th Street and a possible future extension into downtown Indianapolis. This extension will bring the total length of the Monon Rail-Trail to about 10 miles.
