Pogues Run Basin

The Department of Capital Asset Management, a part of the Department of Public Works, is constructing something called the Pogues Run Basin near Dequincy Street and Emerson Avenue, along I-70 East.

The project is part of a flood control and water quality improvment plan for that section of Pogues Run. DPW will be installing a 1.75 mile loop trail around the basin (this part of the project can be seen from I-70) and once the project is complete, the area will be part of the Greenways system.

Indy Greenways is working with DPW to have some more trees planted and to possibly install a gazebo at the site. We are also considering using this area for some environmenal education.

More information, including an aerial photo, is available on DPW's web site.
