Fall Creek Clean-upLots of helpers, young and not quite so young, pitched in for our Fall Creek Clean-up, Saturday, March 31. It took place from 8 a.m. to noon, on the north side of Fall Creek from Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to I-65. A week prior to this event, the Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) cut down all the honeysuckle and applied an environmentally friendly herbicide. This made things very, very easy for volunteers to pull out trash.
Groups that made this event possible are Indy Parks Greenways, Greenways Foundation, DPW, Dirty Dozen Hunting and Fishing Club (supplying a lot of youth volunteers!), and Friends of the White River. Approximately 75 people came out for a beautiful 60 degree day. |
